Art & Music Therapy

We help kids heal through the power of the arts.

These creative therapies are designed to lift the spirits of patients, promote healing, and provide an outlet for emotional expression.

Art Therapy

Art can provide positive distraction and therapeutic activity while in the hospital.  Patients and their families can participate in arts and crafts in the One Mission Resource Room at Boston Children’s Hospital, or activities can be brought bedside for patients who are unable to leave their rooms.

Creative Arts and Healing Program

The One Mission Creative Arts and Healing Program at Hasbro Children’s Hospital features a rotating roster of talented local artists and performers who use the healing power of art to provide fun therapeutic activities and positive distractions for patients and their families.

Music Therapy

One Mission’s Music Therapy Program at Boston Children’s Hospital focuses primarily on improving the emotional and psychological health of the patients. The program’s individualized curriculum is crafted to promote healing, assist in coping with stress and anxiety, and manage pain and nausea during chemotherapy treatment.  One Mission funds the staffing of a Music Therapist exclusively for the oncology floor.

“After my bone marrow transplant, I was really tired so Mark would play his guitar or another instrument without singing. It was very relaxing.”
